Ashanti South Police Arrest Six Suspects Over Robbery and Gang Rape Syndicate in Juaso

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested six suspects believed to be members of a robbery and gang rape syndicate operating in Juaso, in the Ashanti Region.

The arrests followed a targeted intelligence-led operation, which led police to recover several items allegedly linked to the group’s activities. These include 49 mobile phone covers, a bayonet case, a green dress resembling a military uniform, and a photograph allegedly showing the group’s leader dressed in military-style camouflage. A Toyota RAV4 vehicle, suspected to have been used in the syndicate’s operations, was also seized.

According to police, the suspects admitted their involvement during interrogation. They were subsequently arraigned before court on January 12, 2026, and have been remanded into lawful custody.

The suspects are expected to reappear in court on January 28, 2026, as investigations continue.

Police have reiterated their commitment to combating violent crime and have urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to help maintain safety and security in communities.
