Daddy Lumba Died Without a Registered Will – High Court Confirms

The High Court in Accra has confirmed that legendary highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, did not officially lodge a last will and testament with the court before his death.

The confirmation followed a formal search conducted at the Probate and Administration Division of the High Court as part of ongoing legal steps to determine how the late musician’s estate should be managed.

According to an official response issued by the court registry on January 19, 2026, at 2:37 p.m., no will has been deposited in Daddy Lumba’s name. The search specifically sought information on whether a will existed, the date it may have been filed, the person who submitted it, and the legal practitioner involved—none of which were found on record.

The response, which was duly signed and stamped by the Registrar, categorically stated that the court holds no registered will belonging to the late highlife icon.

With no will formally lodged, Daddy Lumba’s estate is expected to be administered under Ghana’s intestate succession laws, unless a valid will emerges from another source outside the court registry.

Daddy Lumba, revered for his immense contribution to Ghanaian music and culture, left behind a vast legacy that continues to shape highlife and contemporary music in Ghana and beyond.
