Former NPP Parliamentary Aspirant Arrested in US Over Alleged Stabbing of Wife

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, has been arrested in the United States following an alleged domestic stabbing incident involving his wife.
According to the Lower Paxton Township Police in Pennsylvania, the incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on January 17, 2026, along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township. Police described the case as a domestic-related stabbing.
First responders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the woman is currently in stable condition.
“The woman was taken to the hospital by first responders and is currently in stable condition,” police said, adding that there was no threat to public safety at any point during the incident.
Mr Nortey, 41, who resides in Harrisburg, has been charged with multiple serious offences, including attempted homicide, possession of an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Online court records indicate that he was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied him bail. He is currently being held at the Dauphin County Prison pending further proceedings.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for January 26, 2026, as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing continue. Authorities have not yet released additional details about what led to the incident.
