Gabby Otchere-Darko Praises Current Government’s Performance, Sparks Heated Reactions Online

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko, has described the performance of the current government as promising and encouraging, saying recent developments give him hope that the administration is on the right track.

Speaking on national issues in an interview monitored by GHOne TV, Otchere-Darko noted that the government has shown positive signs in handling key responsibilities and addressing pressing challenges confronting the country.

According to him, the progress recorded so far suggests that the administration is steadily finding its feet.

“What we are seeing gives hope. The signs are encouraging, and it appears the government is moving in the right direction,” he said.

However, his comments have sparked mixed reactions among Ghanaians, particularly on social media, where opinions remain sharply divided.

While some citizens agreed with his assessment, others insisted that the government still has significant work to do before it can be praised for performance.

Reacting to Otchere-Darko’s remarks on Facebook, a user identified as Theophilus Naatale delivered a scathing response, accusing the former ruling party figures of contributing to Ghana’s current challenges.

“Still cleaning the mess you caused and Prime Minister and Presidential Advisor mpo nie ooo… When the mess is cleared, the Better Ghana slogan would be realized and the true definition of your Ghana Beyond Aid would be seen,” he wrote.

He further added:

“Keep staying at the backyard and watch. After 2099, you may have learnt what true governance means and then we can consider bringing you into power again. Thanks for being truthful Agyapa…”

The exchange has since fueled broader conversations online, with many Ghanaians closely watching whether the government can sustain its current momentum and deliver tangible improvements in the lives of citizens.
