“I Can Be a Second Wife” — Tiwa Savage Opens Up About Marriage and Love on American Podcast

Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has set social media buzzing after revealing that she wouldn’t mind being a second wife, a statement that has since gone viral and stirred mixed reactions online.
Speaking on the popular American podcast Lip Service, the “Somebody’s Son” hitmaker opened up about her love life, admitting that many of the men she meets are either much older or already married, making it difficult to find a suitable partner.
“I’m like a sugar mama, but I don’t want to be. If I meet somebody who can really marry me, they are either in their 50s or already married. So, I don’t know. Maybe I can be a second wife. I think so. I could be a second wife,” Tiwa said.
The award-winning singer and mother of one went on to explain that she would be a respectful and peaceful co-wife, emphasizing that she knows how to maintain boundaries in a marriage.
“I think I can get along with the first wife, and she’s going to love me because I’m not going to be troublesome. I’m always on tour; I won’t stress anyone. I’ll respect her as the first wife,” she added with a laugh.
Tiwa Savage was previously married to music executive Tunji “TBillz” Balogun. The pair tied the knot in 2013 and divorced in 2018, sharing a son together. Their marriage ended publicly after both accused each other of infidelity.
The singer’s candid confession has sparked widespread debate among fans, with many praising her honesty while others questioned her stance on polygamy and modern relationships.
