“I Can Marry Diana Asamoah” — Broda Sammy Opens Up on Divorce & New Possibilities

Ghanaian gospel musician Broda Sammy, known in private life as Samuel Opoku, has revealed that he would be open to marrying fellow gospel singer Diana Asamoah following the end of his marriage.
Speaking on United Showbiz on March 14, 2026, the outspoken singer disclosed that his marriage to his France-based wife, Obaa Yaa, came to an end after she initiated the traditional divorce process.
According to Broda Sammy, he was performing at an event in Manso during the 2025 Christmas period when his family head (Abusuapanyin) informed him that the customary drinks used in their marriage had been returned by his wife’s family — a significant cultural act that signifies the dissolution of a traditional marriage.
He explained that his family head initially refused to accept the drinks, citing a lack of consultation. However, a meeting was later arranged between both families to address the situation.
Broda Sammy revealed that his wife did not attend the meeting in person, but confirmed over the phone that she had instructed her family to return the drinks, effectively ending the marriage.
Following the revelation, his comment about potentially marrying Diana Asamoah has sparked conversations online, with fans reacting to the possibility of a union between the two gospel stars.
