Koforidua High Court Convicts Woman in Acid Attack That Killed Boyfriend

The Koforidua High Court has convicted 25-year-old Vera Asare of manslaughter after she poured acid on her boyfriend, Daniel Omane, while he was asleep — an attack that led to his death months later due to severe burn complications.
According to court proceedings, Vera Asare entered a guilty plea under a plea agreement that recommends a 10-year custodial sentence.
However, sentencing has been adjourned to March 11, 2026, pending a pregnancy test and other considerations before the court delivers its final ruling.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with many expressing shock over the tragic circumstances that led to Daniel Omane’s death.
