“Mahama Is Moving Too Fast” — Bisa Kdei Speaks on Leadership & Accountability

Ghanaian highlife star Bisa Kdei has weighed in on governance and leadership, urging citizens to actively hold leaders accountable while also acknowledging progress where necessary.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on March 26, 2026, the musician revealed he once missed voting due to illness, despite his strong desire for change.
“I was all for change, and I’m happy the change came,” he shared.
“It’s Our Country — We Must Speak Up”
Bisa Kdei emphasized that leadership must come with both praise and criticism, stressing that accountability is key to national development.
“If you work hard, people will praise you… but it’s our money and our country, so we have to speak up.”
He added that government decisions — especially on taxes and economic policies — directly affect everyday Ghanaians, including his own family.
Touching on the current administration, he made a candid observation about John Dramani Mahama:
“I think Mahama is moving too fast.”
However, he cautioned that Ghanaians often fail to recognise progress over time, drawing comparisons to how growth is sometimes overlooked in the music industry.
A reminder that governance is a shared responsibility between leaders and the people.
