Police Arrest Suspect After Seizing 4,000 Parcels of Suspected Narcotics at Dambai

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 40-year-old suspect, Amidu Jubril, after intercepting 4,000 parcels of compressed dried leaf substances, suspected to be narcotics, concealed in a truck at Dambai.

According to a statement from the Regional Police Command, the substances were wrapped in yellow masking tape and hidden in specially constructed compartments beneath the trailer.

“The concealed compartments beneath the trailer were opened in the presence of suspect Amidu Jubril. A search led to the discovery of four thousand parcels of compressed dried leaf substances suspected to be narcotics,” part of the statement read.

The suspect was present during the search and has since been detained to assist with investigations. The truck has been impounded, while all retrieved items have been secured as evidence.

The Regional Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and related offences, assuring the public of continued efforts to clamp down on criminal activity.
