Sefa Opens Up on Hurtful ‘Brainless’ Comment That Drove Her Off X

Ghanaian Afrobeats and Afropop singer Sefa, born Sefadzi Abena Amesu, has revealed how a harsh social media comment once left her emotionally shattered.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the artiste recounted how being branded “brainless” on X (formerly Twitter) deeply affected her mental health.

According to Sefa, one particularly painful post accused her of lacking talent and implied she was simply a “pretty face” with nothing intellectual to offer. She said the comment struck her so hard that she made the decision to stop using the platform altogether.

“One thing that really broke me was when I went on Twitter. That’s why I don’t go on Twitter anymore. Someone wrote that D-Black was wasting his money on me and that I was talentless,” she revealed.

The singer’s candid admission has reignited conversations around cyberbullying, mental health, and the emotional toll online criticism can take on public figures.
